ND High School Basketball Power Rankings

North Dakota Boys A

1. St. Mary

2. Century

3. Davies

4. West Fargo

5. Red River

St. Mary boys are off to a good start and have a big game coming up on Friday against Bismarck. Century also looked good in early season wins against Campbell County (WY), Scotsbluff  (NE), Rock Springs (WY). Fargo Davies outlasted Wahpeton in an early season EDC clash as their two star guards Tanner Kretchman and Andrew Kozlowski led the way. Davies followed that up with a 101 point performance against Jamestown last Saturday. They face the new number five team, Red River on Friday.  West Fargo needed overtime to beat the defending champs then took down Devils Lake to move to 2-0.

North Dakota Boys B

1. Milnor

2. Four Winds

3. Cavalier

4. Rugby

5. Hazen

Milnor is off and running at 6-0. Briton bussman has been supplying most of the scoring on this balanced team. Four Winds-Minnewaukan has been scoring in droves to start the season putting up 70, 62, 98, 64, 72 and 90 so far this season. Cavalier moves up the rankings with a 3-0 start. Rugby and Hazen both have made an impact early in the season. Rugby got an impressive eight-point win over Bishop Ryan while Hazen upset DL-B to move into the rankings.

North Dakota Girls A

1. CENTURY

2. BISMARCK

3. WEST FARGO

4. Fargo Davies

5.Fargo Shanley

Bismarck Century took care of business on a recent trip to Wyoming beating Campbell Co WY 51-45, Rock Springs WY 58-47, and Pueblo South, CO 54-45.  Jordyn Jossart and Macy Lynch combined for 30 points in the final game on Saturday against Pueblo South. Bismarck moves up to number two with an early season win against Minot 77-63. West Fargo gave up 35 points to Sarah Jacobson but fought their way to a victory. Cassidy Thorson and Akealy Moton lead West Fargo in scoring. Fargo Davies looks like a contender after a 3-0 start, but their schedule ramps up with games against the Grand Forks schools, then South and Shanley. Fargo Shanley took an early season loss, Alivia Fraase fouled out of the West Fargo game and they still played the Packers tough. That loss set them back but the Deacons will be there this season.

North Dakota Girls B

1. Bishop Ryan
2. Thompson
3. Beach
4. Shiloh Christian
5. Maple Valley

Bishop Ryan had the unfamiliar feeling of trailing at half time against Thompson, but they fought their way back to a 60-45 win in their opener. Thompson stays at number two despite that loss as they bounced back with a win against New Town (71-33) and then beating a tough Lakota-Edmore 46-40.
