Chris Streveler has made his next move…and it’s a big one.
A couple of months after helping the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers win their first Grey Cup title in 29 years, the former University of South Dakota quarterback is headed to the NFL®.
The Arizona Cardinals signed Streveler to a futures deal this week, giving the 25-year-old a hefty chunk of guaranteed money and a very real shot to compete for a spot behind last year’s No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray.
But don’t let your imagination stop there. Pairing Streveler’s freakish athletic ability with an innovative offensive mind like that of Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury – himself a former Bombers quarterback – would seem to leave the door to a less traditional role wide open.
We covered that, his overall feelings on the opportunity in Arizona, the road he traveled to get there and the people and places that helped make it all possible.
