The 2019 high school football season has arrived, and we’re thrilled to be televising games every Friday night throughout the regular season in North and South Dakota. Our opening game should be particularly exciting, because it features reigning EDC champion West Fargo Sheyenne travelling to the defending Class 3A state champs from Bismarck High. The game kicks off at 7 PM on Friday, August 30^th and you can watch it LIVE on Midco Sports Network. In this podcast, you’ll hear the head coaches of these two squads, Jeremy Newton (Sheyenne) and Mark Gibson (Bismarck), give an overview of their teams and break down that opening night matchup.

Bismarck High might be the Class 3A state champions, but they’ll be replacing a huge and talented senior class that featured 2018 ND Gatorade Player of the Year and starting quarterback Will Madler. Even with the departures, opposing teams across the state feel the Demons will be right in the playoff hunt again in 2019.

West Fargo Sheyenne is coming off its best season as a program after winning its first EDC title. The Mustangs return some talented players, including the conference’s leading rusher Nathan Goldade. Goldade suffered a serious knee injury in the offseason but is holding out hope that he might be able to play this season. Even without Goldade, the Mustangs have a formidable squad thanks to standout players like WR/DB Tyler Terhark and RB/LB Zach Rodgers.
