With the 12-week gap between the two months in mind, it makes you wonder how important spring football really is, considering competitive games are still so far in the future.
While no football coach in the nation subscribes to the belief that you can win a championship in the spring, most would agree that if you don’t do the work during this period, you could certainly lose one.
That mindset is shared by the staff who currently reside in the coaches’ offices in Grand Forks’ Memorial Stadium.
Leading that charge for the University of North Dakota is sixth-year head coach Bubba Schweigert, who just put the finishing touches on six weeks of practices, workouts and meetings in preparation for the 2019 campaign, UND’s last as an FCS Independent before making the shift to the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
Now that the spring season has wrapped, it’s a perfect time to look back at Fighting Hawk football’s main developments from the past two months while looking ahead to what’s to come this fall.
