ND High School Football Power Rankings & Top Performances

Here's a look at my weekly MidcoSN high school football power rankings and a list of some of the top performers from this past week! I had a really long list to choose from for the top 10 performers. So, a big thanks goes out to all of you who emailed, messaged and tweeted suggestions! Keep them coming! Also, we will be televising the Fargo South at Grand Forks Red River game live on Friday night on Midco Sports Network! We have a live high school football game every Friday night this fall, plus plenty of high school sports coverage on our new show Midco Sports Tonight, which airs daily from 6 pm - 7 pm!

Class AAA:

  1. West Fargo (2-0)

  2. Legacy (2-0)

  3. Sheyenne (1-1)

  4. Century (1-1)

  5. South (2-0)

My Take: In Class AAA, I had a lot of change in my power rankings. Bismarck was my number one last week and West Fargo must’ve taken that personally because the Packers dismantled the Demons. Andy Gravdahl's big day led the Packers to the 41-0 victory. Legacy is my big riser of the week going from bubble team to number two. The Sabers outdueled a great Sheyenne team in Bismarck for a 44-42 win. Legacy is for real. Sheyenne doesn’t move despite the loss. The Mustangs will try to stun the top-ranked Packers on Friday night. Century stays put at #4 after knocking off Red River. South takes the fifth and final spot. The Bruins are unbeaten and have been playing some really good defense through two games.

Class AA:

  1. St. Mary's (2-0)

  2. Shanley (2-0)

  3. Devils Lake (2-0)

  4. Jamestown (1-1)

  5. Wahpeton (2-0)

My Take: In 2A, the top four all picked up wins so that all stays the same with St. Mary’s and Shanley headlining the group. The Saints get a good home test against 2-0 Wahpeton this week. The Huskies are into the top five for the first time after pouring it on Turtle Mountain 34-6 Friday night. Senior unning back Aaron Deike scored four touchdowns in that game. Devils Lake and Jamestown both get tested on the road this week.

Class A:

  1. Beulah (2-0)

  2. Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm (2-0)

  3. Langdon Area-Edmore-Munich (2-0)

  4. Hillsboro-Central Valley (2-0)

  5. Carrington (2-0)

My Take: Class A has the same top four, as well, with Carrington replacing Dickinson Trinity at the 5-spot. Beulah has outscored its first two opponents 90 to 6. Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm looked dominant against Kindred, the defending champs get 1-1 North Sargent-Milnor on Friday.

9-Man:

  1. Cavalier (3-0)

  2. Shiloh Christian (3-0)

  3. Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (3-0)

  4. North Prairie (3-0)

  5. Thompson (2-1)

My Take: 9-Man has the exact same top five. Shiloh Christian might have the toughest test among ranked teams this week. The Skyhawks host 3-0 Central McLean. Thompson picked up that midnight win over Finley-Sharon-Hope-Page, in a game that was moved to Thompson at 10:30 at night because of a weather delay. A great non-ranked 9-man battle this week pits undefeated New Salem-Glen Ullin against Beach. Divide County is another 3-0 team to keep an eye on.
