ND State B Girls Basketball Tournament Preview

#2 Kindred (23-0) vs. Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier (19-6) 1:00 PM

Kindred brings an undefeated mark behind the leadership of Brooke Hiatt (12.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg) and MiKayla Reinke (10.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg) against the Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier Rebels who took out one of the state’s best teams in Carrington in the regions. EKM will look to Katie Entzi (16 ppg, 7.9 rpg) and Tallie Hanson (8.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.2 apg) to lead the way.

 

#3 Park River-FL (23-1) vs. Grant County (21-3) 2:45 PM

This game looks the best on paper. Grant County has won 12 straight with no seniors on the team. They feature Taylor Roehl (18.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and Alexis Bentz (13.4 ppg, 7.5) up against the senior laden Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies. Jenna Zavalney (10.9 ppg, 4.9) and Bailey Beneda (10.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg) lead a balanced attack.

 

#1 North Star (24-0) vs. Glen Ullin-Hebron (16-8) 6:30 PM

Top seed and favorite North Star bring an unbeaten team against Glen Ullin-Hebron in the battle of the Bearcats. North Star has only been in two single digit games this season with Macey Kvilvang (21.6 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 4.5 bpg) and Steph Miller (14.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 3.0 apg) leading the way. Glen Ullin-Hebron features Kiana Shatz (16.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg) and Kennedy Zuroff (13 ppg, 6 rpg) to try to pull off the upset.

 

#4 Watford City (19-6) vs. #5 Our Redeemer's (20-5) 8:15 PM

The four five matchup pits two great defensive teams against each other. Our Redeemer’s has Morgan Olson (19.9 ppg, 7.6 rpg) who leads her team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. Watford City eased their way through the post season behind MacKenzie Sparby (18.5 ppg, 11.7 rpg) and Avery Sundeen’s (10.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg) solid play.
