SD Class AA Volleyball Power Rankings

1. Harrisburg 13-1   Was tested against Aberdeen this Saturday but came away with a four set win, Rachel Nelson served four aces and Avery Thorson had 42 assists in that one.  Sam Slaughter had 25 kills in that match and will make school history (Class AA history) soon approaching her 1000th kill. This team only has one road game left and can start getting into a groove at home. Head Coach Ronette Costain is excited about that part of the schedule,

"We are loving the fact that our heavy travel is done and that we get to play at home. We have a few kids sick the past few days so getting everyone healthy is key right now! Our kids take pride in winning but it is extra special when we defend our HOME court! "

2. SF O'Gorman 12-3 Did well in Huron but got upset on the last match of the day against Pierre, their first loss in 10 matches.

3. Roosevelt 12-5   Bounced back with a five set win over Brandon Valley last Thursday after a mini-losing streak, then Tuesday against Watertown

4. RC Stevens 16-2, Beat Sidney NE and Cheyenne Central (WY) in a tournament in Scottsbluff last Friday, but now are off until October 113.

5. Mitchell 12-4 got a sweep on Tuesday against Huron. They avenged an earlier loss to the Tigers getting dominant performances from the whole team. Mitchell makes their first appearance in my rankings, they've now won 8 of their last 9.

ND Class A Volleyball Power Rankings

Century is way ahead of the curve, they had all but three players back from last year's championship team last season but still had some questions at the beginning of the year. Well they've answered those questions in a big way. Co-Head Coaches Sara Boherer and Jamie Zastoupil said they have a "driven group" and they know they have to keep pushing each other to continue their success.

1. Bismarck Century  13-1 
2. Grand Forks Red River   15-3 Five set thrilling finish to beat North on Tuesday. They prepare for a big match on Thursday against Fargo Davies.
3. Legacy  12-3    Still unbeaten in WDA play.
4. Fargo Shanley      14-4  Only loss was to Moorhead,    Beat GFC Tuesday
5. Fargo Davies 12-5   Beat Wahpeton Tuesday make a return to the power rankings, now travel to GF Red River for a big EDC match on Thursday.
