With consecutive wins over Missouri State and Indiana State under its belt, the confidence level of the South Dakota football team is as high as it's been during the Joe Glenn era.

The question now is whether the Coyotes (3-3, 2-1 MVFC) have managed to carry that momentum with them to Cedar Falls, Iowa for Saturday's match-up with No. 11/13 Northern Iowa (4-2, 0-2 MVFC).

It's been a little more than three years since USD last won a game away from the DakotaDome, and if the Coyotes are going to snap that 18-game streak against the Panthers, a few things have to happen.

• Good Start - The Coyotes scored a total of 10 points in the first three quarters of their previous three road games this season. That's not going to get it done against anyone, let alone UNI. Nothing good can come from spotting the Panthers a three-quarter head start.
• Take Care of the Ball - The Coyotes also have to take care of the football. USD overcame four turnovers in last week's win over Indiana State, including two interceptions in the end zone that killed potential scoring drives. They also threw an interception in the end zone during the previous week's win over Missouri State.
• Clean Special Teams - Special teams has been a weekly adventure. From bad snaps to blocked kicks, the Coyotes have had a tough time getting through an entire game without encountering some kind of issue. The most frustrating part of it for the coaches is that it's not the same problem from week-to-week. All you need to know is this: three of the last seven touchdowns scored against the Coyotes have come off of special teams mistakes.
