Game of the week in this class: Brandon Valley at Sioux Falls Washington

It will be interesting to see the rematch of last year's title game. Both teams look very different, complete with new quarterbacks, defensive leaders and offensive weapons. Junior quarterback Jake Comeaux has been good since his first outing against Roosevelt. His best outing came against Huron in the Lynx second game when he went 14/20 231 yds and 5TDs. He should have senior wide out A.J. Garrow back from an injury. He won't play full time but the Lynx will have yet another weapon on the field. For the second week it was  Drew Rienschmidt leading the way receiving, getting 6 catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Washington got a much needed rebound against Stevens last week. They steamrolled their way to a 30-0 lead at half time then played a lot of reserves getting the 36-0 shutout. Washington will regroup with a tough test at Howard Wood Field with a healthy Dan Marlette on defense. Luke Reiter has been good for a long run or two each week and will need to carve up the Lynx defense to eat up some clock. If Brandon Valley doesn't make the unusual amount of mistakes that they did last week they should get the road win.

Game of the week in this class: Sioux Falls O'Gorman at Yankton

This one isn't technically a 11AA battle but O'Gorman's school size puts them in this class. O'Gorman used a second half comeback to almost beat the top rated Pierre Governors last week but came up two yards shy of forcing overtime. O'Gorman has been impressive in their last two weeks as Luke Fritsch gets comfortable at quarterback. Matt White has also been explosive in the Knights ground attack, last week White carried the ball for 179 yards on an undersized Pierre defense. Yankton could have one of the top passing attacks in the class but their 1-3 record reflects their balance on offense. Despite outgaining Bradon Valley 473-270 in yards they couldn't stop the Lynx. This one should be high scoring with Yankton's quarterback Mason Strahl finding JJ Hejna in the passing game and Luke Fritsch and Matt White controlling it on the ground for O'Gorman.

Neither team has trailed yet this season. West Central has only given up 12 points in three games this year. The Trojans ran for 255 yards and beat Dakota Valley 49-6 in the season opener, Madison has also played Dakota Valley  and came up big 34-12. Rush Milne and Jacob Giles have been outstanding this year. Milne has been especially fierce this year running the ball. Last week he ran for 131 yards and three touchdowns against Sisseton.

SD 11B

Game of the week in this class: Winner at Parkston

Parkston has been impressive this year. The Trojans won a big top five battle against Wagner last week. Andrew Semmler returned two touchdowns last week to vault Parkston to a 4-0 record. Wes Dvorak missed last week's game as their starting quarterback. Zach Davis replaced him and Parkston didn't miss a beat. Head Coach Eric Norden isn't sure if Wes will start Friday,

"Wes is a day to day decision.  We will need to stop Winner’s running game first.  They have a lot of power up front and we will have to be able to handle that. Offensively we will have to get our run game rolling"

Winner is the defending 11B champ and have Nathan Galbraith leading the way on the ground and Trace Meyer back at quarterback.

Game of the week in this class: Elkton/Lake Benton at Arlington

Arlington's Luke Weber is a threat from anywhere on the field but especially returning kicks. He took two back to the house a couple of weeks ago against Oldham-Ramona/Rutland. Luke Weber and Nathan Parker have been great on the ground. Andrew King hasn't had to pass much but when he does, watch out, Logan Kangas and Tanner Lemme are ready to catch it. Another dangerous quarterback is in this game though. Trevan Farnham can pass or run for the Elks. Preston Krumm, Jose Flores and Nathan Krog give the Elks weapons to be able to compete with Arlington. This will be the Cardinals first big test since beating Deubrook in the opener.
