High School Football Power Rankings - North Dakota

North Dakota Class AAA

1. Bismarck (3-0)

The Demons have gotten off to relatively slow starts in each of their three wins. Their offensive line has been wearing down opponents and the quarterback play of Hayden Gibson has improved. Last week Gibson threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns and also put the game out of reach with a rushing TD. Bismarck hosts Dickinson this Friday.

2. Century  (3-0)

I was a little late in realizing how good this Patriot team is. Last week they gave up an early field goal then ran off 23 straight points to beat Dickinson 23-3 despite four turnovers.  Hunter Babeck did the dirty work carrying 34 times for 197 yards. Sophomore quarterback Dalton Feeney continues to evolve into a top flight leader and is already on the shot list of top QBs in the state. Century travels to Williston this Friday.

3. Fargo South (2-1)

If James Johannesson (#33 left) is coming to a field near you be sure to stay for the show. Last week he ran for 331 yards and 4 TDs to vault Fargo South to a win over Devils Lake . Only one of his TD runs started inside the 20. He went for runs of 54, 20, 17 and 35 yards. Johannesson ran for 276 yards against Century the week before and a measly 160 in the season opener. The Bruins welcome Fargo North across town for homecoming this Friday.

4. Minot (3-0)

The Magi got a nice break in the schedule last week when they faced Williston and beat them 42-0. Sophomore Ben Bolinske thew two touchdowns and the Minot D led by Kolton Larson threw a shutout. Minot travels for the third out or four straight road games to Mandan this Friday.

5. Dickinson (2-1)

This Dickinson team has a tough schedule but are definitely improved. Quarterback Andrew Heckeman looked promising despite his two interceptions and 11/30 game. Dylan Skabo had a good game against Century catching four passes, but if the ground game doesn't improve they'll have no chance against Bismarck this week.
