ND Class A
1. Red River 4-0
Grand Forks Red River’s Zach Mahoney, Dylan Dufault, Matt Anderson and Blake Kemnitz might be one of the best rotations in the state. They each got off to a great start chalking up wins against Devils Lake and Wahpeton early in the season.
2. Minot 4-0
The Magician bats have been on fire. They beat Dickinson twice and beat St. Mary’s 20-7 and 11-1 in 19 degree wind chills. Zach Danielson and Chandler Jacob have led the offense while their pitching has gotten it done. They’ve outscored early season opponents 48-16.
3. Davies 0-1
Davies is still in the discussion amongst the best in North Dakota. They lost their opener to Moorhead on Tuesday 14-9. Davies was up 7-0 before breaking down and giving up fourteen runs.
4. Dickinson 4-2
After two opening losses to Minot the Midgets regrouped by beating Century twice then beating Williston twice. Pete Dobitz’ team has put up good offense early on.
5. Fargo South 2-1
Fargo South lost in their opener to Grand Forks Red River but followed that up with a pair of no-hitters against Valley City. Alex Dubord pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven batters. Then the Bruins got a combined no-hitter and won 13-0 win in the second game.
