W#4 Dickinson
E#1 South
Dickinson barely qualified for the playoffs, South stumbled in the season finale, but both will be ready for the opening game at the FargoDome Friday night. South's Zach Reich should be in the lineup as needed for the Bruins. But it might not matter, South took it to Dickinson two weeks ago with James Johannesson running for 311 yards and four TDs. South wins by 28.

E#3 Red River
W#2 Century
Red River's only loss of the year came at the hands of West Fargo in a 27-0 drubbing. Century handled West Fargo but lost in the early season to South, a team which Red River just beat. Red River quarterback Chad Bartosh has been among the best QBs in the state over the season and has some great weapons in the passing game. However Century's defensive backfield should be up for the challenge. I give Century the edge even though Red River has had a great season. Century by 10.

E #4 Devils Lake
W#1 Bismarck
The Demons have not been seriously challenged yet and I doubt Devils Lake will change that Friday night. Although the Firebirds have had some highlights this year it will probably be the end of the road at the Community Bowl. Bismarck beat Devils Lake 40-6 last time around. I expect a similar score this time.

W #3 Minot
E #2 West Fargo
This is the game of the day. West Fargo will move east to play this "home game" in the FargoDome. They'll rely on big plays in their passing game from Scott Cameron to Chaz Gunderson but their bread and butter will be running the ball with Preston Lehmann. Minot on the other hand may have the best quarterback in the state with Alex Yanosko. He's a run-first threat who can burn defenses with his quickness and elusiveness. I think Yanosko will have more big plays than West Fargo and seal the win in a 2 point victory for Minot.
