W#4 Rugby |
E#1 Shanley |
Fargo Shanley's powerful sophomore duo of Chase Montplisir and Danny Stasch will power over Rugby. |
E#3 Wahpeton |
W#2 Beulah |
The Wahpeton power running game will give Beulah problems. Trevor Zacher will keep the Wahpeton defense on their toes though. I see a minot Wahpeton upset. |
E #4 Valley City |
W#1 Bishop Ryan |
This could be the best game of the first round. Ryan didn't play their best game in the season finale but have been one of the elite teams in Class AA this season. Valley City's defense has been stout and could give problems Austin Eggl and the Ryan offense. I do think the home field advantage will produce a slim win for Bishop Ryan |
W #3 Carrington |
E #2 Grafton |
Grafton has put the most consistent season together in the class under Head Coach Tom Maus. Quarterback Christian Lunde has made some outstanding plays this year and should give the the Cardinal defense problems. Carrington QB Cole Henrickson hasn't been as consistent throwing the ball as I thought he'd be but Casey Murphy has done a nice job running the ball. Murphy has put up 1,051 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns. I've been positive on Carrington all year but I don't think they have enough defense to stop a potent Grafton offense. Grafton by 14 |
