North Dakota Class A Preview

1:00 pm in Langdon
Langdon
Park River-FL
Langdon was one of three region 2 teams to take out a region one team in the first round. They smoked Park River/Fordville-Lankin by 40 in their last meeting in September but the Aggies have been on a roll since then beating Harvey, Westhope and Maple Valley in consecutive games. I think it will be closer than last time but Langdon/Munich wins.
1:00 pm in Westhope
Milnor North Sargent
Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn
Both of these teams went on the road to get first round wins. The Milnor North Sargent win was particularily impressive over previously unbeaten Larimore. I think the Bulldogs get another road win and take out WesthopeNG in a close game with a Morlock and Martinson running attack and Britton Bussman making some big plays with his arm.
1:30 pm in Stanley
Killdeer
Stanley-Powers Lake
Bluejay football keeps rocking. Their offense put up 54 last week and contained the Storm passing attack enough to get the win. Killdeer could be a sleeper, but without Christian Kullish at full strength it could be tough. Trent Rohr for Killdeer and Abe Roerich for SPL will put on a running show but in the end the defending champs will survive and advance.
1:30 pm in Hazen
Heart River
Hazen
The game of the day will be in Hazen. The Bison have regrouped after two regular season losses and become one of the strongest teams in the class. Briar Bornemann has put up 12 rushing TDs in his limited season and seems to be gaining steam. Stetson Carr is a terrific quarterback and can throw when they need a big play. Heart River lives on their running game and they have 2300+ yards between their two stud runners Seth Ewoniuk and Cole Hecker. I think Hazen will make more big plays with Bornemann and Carr and win the game by 8.
