The Sioux Falls Storm takes on the Chicago Slaughter this Sunday.

The game will be LIVE on Midco Sports Network at 4:00.

Chicago is coached by former Chicago Bear, Steve McMichael.  Jim McMahon has been a co-owner of the team since February 2010.  (The team was named to honor the meat packers and other blue collar workers in the Windy City.)

The Slaughter is off to a 1-4 start… won their first game, lost their last 4.  One of those losses was to Cedar Rapids, the team Sioux Falls beat by 40 last Sunday.

The Storm is 4-and-0 after beating Cedar Rapids 69-29 last week.  Sioux Falls leads the IFL in scoring at 74.5 points per game and the Storm is rolling without two guys who helped them put up a league-high 73 PPG last year.  Running back James Jones was released after being accused of assault and all-time leading receiver James Terry was traded to Cedar Rapids, BUT..... Terry is apparently coming back to Sioux Falls.  More on that in a moment.

So without Jones and Terry, Sioux Falls quarterback Chris Dixon has gone out and been even better than last year… which is hard to believe.

In four games this year, Dixon is carrying the ball quite a bit... about 8 times a game.  He’s already rushed for 9 touchdowns.  Thru the air, Dixon has completed 83% of his passes… with 20 TD and zero INT.

One of Dixon's favorite targets this year is Clinton Solomon who had 20 touchdown catches last year in the IFL playing for Wichita.  Solomon has 8 TDs already this year and he and Dixon have found a groove after a slow start in training camp.

"Camp was the worst for me," says Solomon.  "I couldn't catch a cold from Chris.  We couldn't connect.  We were like... what is going on?  But we took our time and we built a relationship and the great leader that he is, he expects so much out of you.  So he coached me and stayed with me and I'm just happy to be here with him."

Dixon should be pleased, as well.

So you have Solomon with 8 TD catches.  You have Carl Sims with 8 TD catches.  Sims is averaging 100 receiving yards per game which leads the IFL.  You can’t forget Lorenzo Brown who has 3 TD grabs.  AND NOW…

Midco SN's Jay Elsen reports that James Terry is returning to the Storm.  Terry was traded away to Cedar Rapids after last season… but Elsen says the Storm have sent running back Andre Crenshaw to Cedar Rapids to get James Terry back in a Storm uniform.  Do not know for sure yet if Terry will play this Sunday.

The move leaves Brandon Walker as the Storm’s number one running back.  Walker is a big guy (compared to JJones) at 6-1 and 215 pounds.  He carried 8 times and scored twice last week.

So the Storm is LOADED.  There is a poll on the IFL website asking if a team will score 100 points in a game this season.  (Sioux Falls did it once last year.)  If a team does it this year, it will be the Storm… and it might be this weekend.
