Anything can and usually does happen in the Class AA tournament. This year Mitchell sits atop its perch with the number one seed and just one loss on the season. They are the favorite but there are a lot of teams in the field that could make some noise. Washington has the most tradition of the teams in the field and they seemed to have settled down after a rough end to the regular season. Brandon Valley has the best player in the field with Heidi Hoff. Roosevelt is riding high with a 7-1 record over their last 8. Senior leaders Sydney Rome and Anja Cucak lead an otherwise young group against Aberdeen Central who have struggled down the stretch going 4-5 in recent weeks. Rapid City Stevens has the most dominant post player in Margaret McCloud. O'Gorman will hope to catch lightning with their seniors Tori Langin and Chandler Nielsen in their rematch with Washington.
