Power Rankings 2/1/12 (South Dakota Girls)

I continue to see Mitchell as the most balanced team in the state. They seem to be improving now that their triple threat of Kerri Young (Jr.), Macey Miller (So.) and Kristin Sabers (Jr.) are healthy and gelling. This young team is scary when they are at the top of their game and still very good when they are not. Aberdeen Central quietly continues to win and I see them as a threat because of the way they match up with the other teams in the class. Aberdeen has the ability to shut down big teams and quick teams with their versatility and that could mean a nice run for the Eagles in March.

In Class A Wagner continues to surprise some by staying unbeaten. They have not had an easy schedule either. They've beaten good teams like St. Thomas More, Parkston, Beresford, West Central, and Hanson. They have star power with Devon Brecke and Jessica Doom but are filled with quality players like LaShawn Medicine Horn and Alexa Cimpl up and down the bench.

Class B is up for grabs. Summit is playing the best as the month turns to February. Logan and Presley O'Farrell lead a confident group that many have forgotten or ignored this year. This program deserves to be mentioned right at the top of the class.
