Power Rankings 1/11/12 (North Dakota Girls)

West Fargo was on the short end of the score versus Grand Forks Red River last Thursday but how they bounced back to beat the defending champion Fargo North Spartans was enought to convince me that they are still number one. In their loss Cassidy Thorson was the only West Fargo player in double-digits, then two days later they regrouped and found five players with 8+ points in the stat sheet led by Erin Krogh’s 21 points. That is more like the team that we've grown to know. West Fargo is so hard to defend because of their balanced attack. Lexi Lennon, Hannah Schnepf, Erin Krogh, Christine Baltezore and Cassidy Thorson have all had 15 point games this season and all could go off any night. West Fargo faces Fargo South and Wahpeton this week.

In class B the story is about Carrington and their injuries as they prepare to face Central Cass in a battle of unbeatens. Carrington’s Emily Thompson has been sidelined by injury and now Sierra Rosenau has injured her ankle although she’s expected to play against Central Cass this Friday. Carrington will look to Becca Scherr to shoulder the scoring load as they try to continue their perfect run. Central Cass poses a threat led by Hannah Breske and Courtney Dixon.

Beach re-emerges in my power rankings who have been playing well despite replacing all five starters from last season. Their only loss has been to Linton this year. Bailey Waldal is a player to watch, she put up 27 against Hettinger-Scranton and leads a powerful and athletic offense.
