Power Rankings 1/11/12 (North Dakota Boys)

Dexter Werner is climbing to a new level in Boys Class A basketball. His point totals are going higher and higher as the year goes on and Bismarck is reaping the benefits. Werner has three games in a row over 20 points and has carried his team to an 8-1 record. But watch out for the sophomore Taylor Schafer who gives the Demons another outside threat. He put up back to back 21 point games against Natrona County and Mandan and continues to improve offensively. He’ll get more playing time if his defense continues on the same ascent.

Don’t look now but Fargo Shanley has been on a tear with A.J. Jacobson leading the way. Jacobson is a 6’5” guard who leads the EDC in blocked shots. Watch out for a surge from Shanley. Grand Forks Red River continues to quietly stay undefeated. Big man Josh Hoplin has stepped up his game leading Red River in scoring in their last two games. It’s not a one man show with Mack Arvidson anymore. Mac Kroeplin, Ricky Farroh and Josh Hoplin help to make a very solid group of ball players.
