A new season of "Varsity Sports Now!" is underway on Midco Sports Network.

Jason Andera and I will be scouring through the region's prep basketball scene every Thursday night (7 pm) for the next few months. You can expect highlights, player features, coach interviews, and, of course, Andera's Power Rankings.

We will also be offering several opportunities for viewer interaction.

Varsity Sports Now! Player of the Week: Starting this season, we are going to hand out weekly honors to the region’s top performers. Coaches and fans alike are asked to submit a nomination form in the "Contact Us" section of our website. Winners will be announced every Thursday night during the show.

Campus Cam: Any student/teacher with a video camera has a chance to produce a segment for the show. Grab an interview with a coach, player, or fans and send us an email. Your piece could be aired on a future episode of "Varsity Sports Now!"

Comment Cards: We invite you to contact us with any questions or comments you might have via email or Twitter (@ElsenMidcoSN or @AnderaMidcoSN). Suggestions/story ideas for the show are always appreciated, as are questions about high school basketball from around the region. If they're good enough, Jason might answer them for you on the show.

Blogs: Our resident expert will break down high school hoops throughout the season. Check back for weekly updates and power rankings. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts.
