StemeNiemaDosch Talk Summit Hoops: Ep 5

Covering college basketball like only a conservative former coach, an aging current broadcaster and an opinionated former player can. The StemeNiemaDosch Hoops Podcast brings you smart talk, reasonable debate and national and local guests from the Summit League to the Power Five.

SND are joined this week by Tim Miles, former head coach at Nebraska and current TV analyst for Big Ten Network and Fox Sports.

Miles is from Doland, SD. He played college basketball at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. His first job as a head coach was at Mayville State in North Dakota. He moved to Southwest Minnesota State, then to North Dakota State, then to Colorado State, and ultimately to Nebraska.

Two of Tim Miles former assistants are Saul Phillips and Craig Smith. Phillips is now the head coach at Northern State in Aberdeen, SD, and Smith is currently the head coach at Utah State.

Greg Stemen and Zach Dosch talk with Miles about the recent death of Tim’s mother, how color analyst icon Bill Raftery played a part in landing Miles his new TV role and if and when Miles will get back in to college coaching.

We also touch on Coach Phillips and his 4-2 start at Northern State, Coach Smith and his 7-0 start at Utah State, former SDSU coach T.J. Otzelberger and his 2-5 start at UNLV and the pre-season so far for The Summit League men.
