South Dakota State football finished the season with their highest rankings – 6th and 7th – in two national FCS polls. This season, they finished with a 9-4 overall record and a 7-1 conference record, earning them their first Missouri Valley Football Conference title and advancing to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs for the first time in program history.
