Former USD QB Chris Streveler Celebrates Canadian Football Championship

The drought is over in Winnipeg.

The Canadian Football League’s Blue Bombers are celebrating their first Grey Cup Championship in 29 years thanks, in part, to the play of former South Dakota quarterback Chris Streveler.

Playing at well below 100 percent, as he had throughout the entire postseason, Streveler accounted for 82 total yards and a passing touchdown in the Bombers’ title-clinching win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Nov. 24.

The effort earned the second-year pro a piece of franchise immortality, but what’s happened since then has elevated Streveler to CFL Legend status.
